Sales Manager

Motic may be a newcomer in the medical space, but we are hardly a novice when it comes to creating technologies to solve deep-rooted problems. We made big waves in the global medical community last year when we launched our first products for digital pathology, and will be aggressively expanding our footprint and product reach in the global medical market in 2019.

We are looking for a driven and nimble Sales Manager to drive our channel expansion into hospitals, clinics and medical schools, and to implement sales programs that will guide and open the door for our medical partners to take their first, revolutionary steps into digital pathology. This role will begin as an individual contributor position, with plenty of opportunity to grow responsibilities and strategic input. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the management potential to build their own team.

This is a full-time position based out of our office in San Francisco, CA. You must be authorized to work in the United States.

In this position, you will:

  • Build expertise and insight on the pathology space through market research and customer interactions
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation opportunities and build compelling go-to-market strategy for new product launches
  • Expand our sales reach through strategic partnership development with leading hospitals and universities in cancer care, working closely with prospects to discover industry challenges and opportunities
  • Leverage solutions-based selling techniques to deliver application-specific value to our end user
  • Create strong and data-driven sales processes to improve on our existing programs
  • Travel for tradeshows and customer demos, approximately 7-8 trips a year, or up to 30% time
  • Report to the Director of Digital Pathology

Does this sound like you?

  • Minimum 3+ years in sales, proven experience with technology-based, device, or enterprise sales and user training, prior leadership or management role a plus
  • Extreme ownership: You have a get-things-done attitude and are willing to wear multiple hats in an organization
  • Process-oriented: You delight in setting up strong, repeatable processes for yourself and for others to make an organization’s sales cycle more efficient
  • You are adept at the relationship-building side of sales and have managed a large roster of accounts in the past; you are eager to connect with pathologists, laboratory managers, and hospital decision-makers
  • Intellectual curiosity: A background in medical sales is not required, but you should have the technical experience to understand our products as well as the adaptability to learn the language, workflows, and needs of our medical partners
  • Excellent communication skills and follow-through: You will interact with a variety of decision-makers in this role, from IT to administrators to doctors; you understand that you are accountable to both the internal product team and the external customer for any promises you make during the selling process
  • Coachability: You’re committed to continuous learning and self-improvement
