Technical Project Manager

San Francisco, CA

Motic may be a newcomer in the medical space, but we are hardly a novice when it comes to creating technologies to solve deep-rooted problems. We made big waves in the global medical community last year when we launched our first products for digital pathology, and will be aggressively expanding our footprint and product reach in the global medical market in 2019.

We are looking for a hyper-organized and technically-minded Project Manager to maintain product launch schedules, oversee new product roll outs, and help our enterprise partners manage their hardware and software implementations. Our ideal candidate loves creating and streamlining processes for maximum efficiency, is a big-picture thinker who nevertheless understands how to create detailed, step-by-step plans, and speaks enough tech to feel at home collaborating with our customers’ IT departments.

This is a full-time position based out of our office in San Francisco, CA. You must be authorized to work in the United States.

In this position, you will:

  • Manage timeline prioritization and enforce internal product launch deadlines, including working cross-functionally with engineering, factory, marketing, and sales teams, as well as with Motic executives
  • Work closely with various departments, especially IT, within our partner organizations to implement our scanners and software
  • Oversee the rollout process for new products and new product features to our end users, working closely with partners and internal teams to devise strategic project plans, and creating custom-tailored processes, timelines, and trainings to ensure proper and timely installation of our products
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Create and maintain thorough project documentation
  • Own the customer feature experience by ensuring that our Customer Success teams are equipped with the knowledge and collateral to aid and train our end users
  • Manage multiple projects in multiple geographical locations; travel to trade shows and customers as required, a couple of international trips per year, up to 20% time
  • Report to the Director of Digital Pathology

Does this sound like you?

  • 3+ years of experience in project management; a proven track record of -managing all aspects of a successful project, delivering on time and within scope and budget
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies; the ability to oversee software integrations of existing platforms is a key part of ensuring the success of new product releases
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent preferred, but coding academy candidates or project managers with a strong background in technical products are also highly encouraged to apply

Bonus points:

  • Fluency in Mandarin and/or proven experience working with native Mandarin speakers on technical projects a plus
  • PMO experience in a large corporation highly desirable
